...one of the main things I like about SafariPedals plug-ins is that they're super quick to use. No hours fiddling around (although you can still do that if you want). I like the fact that this has no selectable Q values or several filter types. The low band is like a quick pultec EQ without the "hassle" of cutting AND boosting + three saturation bands (especially the mid band sounds nice). This gets you out of your decision paralysis. The mid band has proportional Q values, meaning that you start with broad strokes and the filter slope becomes more and more steep the more you push it. The high band is a funky animal in that it is kind of a tilt EQ mixed with a high shelf, but not really. There's much more going on and it doesn't always do what you expect. It's better to use your ears here (isn't it always?). This is not your surgical equalizer but it's easy to achieve the tone you're looking for. I'm enjoying this one more and more. The mid side feature again is super simple and clever. Instead of over complicating things with different settings for the mid and side channels (which can be cool don't get me wrong) you can simply choose to only affect the sides, the mids, or anything in between. Call me crazy but I equally like it on instrument inserts as well as on the stereo bus. If I'd had to choose just one EQ, it'd be this.
New opportunities to inspire the way we can approach our mixes.
The aristic side of the mixing process, benefits from these plugins.
This eq saturator is like a poor mans Michaelangelo eq. Its my most used current saturator.
This plugin gives a really good and realistic sound.
I've trusted the Dragon Eq for a long time now; it's living constantly on my mixbus and on the electric piano channel. It is super versatile and very inspiring to use.
